Professor (Prof) Tebello Nyokong is a renowned figure in the field of chemistry and an esteemed academic. With a vast range of accomplishments and contributions, she has made a significant impact on the scientific community.

Born in South Africa, Prof Nyokong displayed a penchant for science from a young age. She pursued her higher education at the University of Lesotho where she developed a strong foundation in chemistry. Her passion for research led her to pursue a Ph.D. in chemistry at the University of London.

1. Doctoral Research: In her Ph.D. research, Nyokong focused on the synthesis and study of phthalocyanines, a class of compounds with various applications in fields such as medicine and technology and explored novel ways of incorporating metals into phthalocyanines and studied their photo physical properties. Nyokong’s research was highly regarded and earned her numerous accolades

2. Professorship and Leadership: After completing her doctorate, ProfNyokong held academic positions at various prestigious institutions including the University of Lesotho and Rhodes University.
