Applications for post-doctoral fellowship programme for women now open

The World Academy of Sciences, also known as (TWAS) for the advancement of science in developing countries, is calling for application for the 2021 Islamic Development Bank (IsDB)-TWAS Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme for Women. 

TWAS, which is a unit of UNESCO based in Trieste, Italy, was founded in 1983.  It supports sustainable prosperity in the developing world through research, education, policy and diplomacy. The academy offers a range of opportunities to scientists, such as research grants, awards and fellowships.

The 2021 edition isopen only to women scientists from IsDB least developed member countries. The programme aims to advance research in the fields of sustainability science.   

UNESCO’s Francesca Menozzi said the fellowship is an invaluable opportunity for women scientist from least developed countries. She said applicant may undertake post-doctoral research in areas relevant to sustainability science at host institutions with a well-established track in research in developing countries.
